Translation Service

100% committed

My Name is Mariko Miki. I have been working as a translator for the last 20 years, I worked as a technical translator for Farran Technology in the Republic of Ireland for several years, working closely with all the teams across the company, Since I moved to England, I have continued working as a freelance translator for them and they have also recommended me to other companies. At one point I was heavily involved in a project for Smith Detection to win a contract from the Japan Customs Service to supply their container scanners to be installed at major Japanese ports. This project lasted for a number of years. I then became a full-time translator and HR assistant for an automotive seat system manufacturer called Tachi-S (UK), and they are still one of my clients.

Unfortunately, due to coronavirus pandemic, my interpretation and translation roles have reduced as my clients' business was affected. However, I have been maintaining my skills in order to be ready for demand for translation services to return. I try to keep up with world affairs and socialise as much as possible. Please contact me for further information and a quote for any translation work you have.

My USP are:

  1. I am native Japanese. I am very confident in my own written and spoken Japanese language skills.

  2. I understand how unique the Japanese work ethic can be, yet how that can co-exist with that of other countries. This allows me to perform well as a translator. When I attend meetings in particular, the service I can provide is not just a literal translation from one language to another but can help to create a professional, friendly atmosphere among the parties.

  3. My experience and commitment. Most of my clients are my former employers or colleagues or people who were referred to me by them, and I get a lot of repeat business.
    My clients include:
    L3 Technologies
    UltraVision CLPL
    Smith Detection
    Tachi-S
    Honda

  4. My flexibility and independence. I am a self-employed freelance translator, based in Bedford, whereas most translation companies are based in London. I can provide you with a local service that satisfies your requirements in Bedford and the surrounding area. I can also accompany you on your business trips or with your customers and visitors from Japan, either domestic or international, to attend meetings, trade shows, etc.
