About

Hello,

I am Mariko Miki. I was born in Kyoto and grew up in Tokyo. I now live in Bedford, England with my husband and 2 teenage children.

I have been working as a translator for engineering and automotive companies for the last 20 years. This gave me opportunities to gain experience in various fields of business operations within the companies. I obtained my Japanese language teaching qualification in 2005 while I was still working full-time for a company called Farran Technology in the Republic of Ireland.

I am a self-employed freelance translator also teaching Japanese, organising Japanese cultural events and workshops and running a Japanese food catering business called TAGAMO. These can be tied together to produce something bespoke and special for my clients which can be tailored to their individual requirements.

It is my passion to share my cultural background and my interests with people outside Japan through my knowledge about the language, cooking and Japanese way of doing things. To my utmost pleasure, I feel blessed to get to meet wonderful people and learn something new from them all the time. It is always my customers who expand my potential and provide me with new opportunities, which is much appreciated.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for any further information. I look forward to working with you.
